Assignment: Mixing Drums
Your second assignment is to mix the drum set tracks we recorded this week.:
- Listen to the unmixed drum set tracks. I assigned letters to each 'take'. You should hear differences between the levels of the parts (a.k.a. interdynamics). You should also pay attention to how the lack of panning changes how the drums sound.
- Choose 2 takes to work on.
- Make 2 mixes of each. Try to make each mix sound different. Use aux tracks and bussing to set up your processing.
- Mix the 4 passages down to stereo tracks and bounce them out to a file.
